I’m going to use this blog to put up some of my poems. Poems I’ve written and poems I’ve made with other media.
This video poem is call pedra / perdoar and in Portuguese it means “stone / to forgive” … The stones I made into this video poem are from Rockaway Beach in New York and from the campus of ESAD in Caldas da Rainha – http://esad.pt/ – Portugal where I was a professor in the time-based art department teaching video art and installation. I am thinking how forgiveness can turn hard hearts soft. I am thinking how NOT TRUE is the childhood poem: “sticks and stones can break my bones, but words will never hurt me” & I am thinking how beautiful stones are to hold, to skip, to line-up and collect, but not to throw. The music is by Kamel Boutros.
I loved this, Anna. Further thoughts via Messenger. Thank you.
